"It's not about the shower, it's about saving water"
We see schools as a practical way of speedily introducing this solution in their communities throughout Cape Town, for these reasons:
Children are often more willing to try something new than adults. When their parents and guardians see the shower in action, it will help them to change the way they shower, too.
Many, many children in Cape Town are conscious of the water problem. This gives them something positive that they can focus on to save water.
We haven't yet established a way to manufacture the shower-heads. Having communities and schools produce these means we can start saving water now. It is not difficult to do, and can be viewed as a fun and worthwhile community or school project.
